Answering your FAQs on Elemenoe’s New Developmental Preschool
What is a developmental preschool?
A developmental preschool is designed to encourage speech, language and development for children who have autism, down syndrome or other developmental delays. Elemenoe Preschool is a structured play-based program facilitated by communication experts who make sure every opportunity for learning is captured.
What are the benefits of Elemenoe Preschool?
Elemenoe preschool is a specialized program for children with developmental delays where they can learn in a small group environment with staff that know how to bring out the best in them. It is an early communication and school readiness program for kids who could use a more intensive and structured learning environment before going to school. Our preschool has small class sizes with a low student to child ratio.
What does it look like?
Your child will attend 3 half-days per week (mornings or afternoons) with the same cohort of children. During their time at Elemenoe Preschool, the children will engage in play-based Montessori-style activities, have 1:1 ABA and SLP lessons focused on the development of foundational skills and have the opportunity to engage with their peers.
Who can participate?
Any child between the age of 2 and 5 is welcome at Elemenoe Preschool! Our program is specifically designed for any child with a language or communication delay such as Down syndrome, autism, apraxia, and/or other speech and language delays. We will do a brief assessment with your child, at no additional cost to you, prior to enrolling them in the program to ensure it is the right fit for them.
How is the program funded?
This program is eligible in the Ontario Autism Program and may be eligible by other government funding sources. Our team can help your family determine what funding may be available.
